As part of its community service and education drive, the Berbice Chamber of Commerce donated a complete computer system to the Cumberland Nursery School on Friday.
According to a press release, the donation is expected to enable the school to do most of its computer-related projects at the school to benefit its 80 pupils.
At a simple presentation ceremony, the Chamber’s past president Imran Sacoor and members Tajepaul Ajohdea, Chris Hicks who is also head of the PTA at the school, and Avia Lindie handed over the system to the head teacher. The head teacher said the school was grateful for the computer as it will boost its efficiency.
The Berbice Chamber has, over the years, worked closely with the community on charitable projects aimed at improving service. Earlier this year it received a number of computer systems through a partnership with Birdy Sukhram of the USA. The Chamber has identified four other entities that will receive the gift.
