Hand-in-Hand Group of Companies has added its support the Miss Emancipation Pageant set for August 10. In a press release, the company, one of the Diamond sponsors of the event, said it was pleased to participate as the pageant gives youth an opportunity to empower themselves through cultural awareness and humanitarian endeavours.
Last year’s pageant facilitated the launching of a youth group, ‘Guyanese Girls Unite’ from which delegates joined with ‘School Girls Unite’ a US-based organisation, to celebrate the first ever UN declared ‘International Day of the Girl Child’ on October 11. The delegates have since gone on to represent Guyana at youth conferences worldwide, the statement said.
