NEW DELHI, India, CMC- Indian selectors have put their faith in the 15 players currently in England seeking to retain their ICC Champions Trophy by naming an unchanged squad for the tri-series to be played in the West Indies from June 28.
The squad seeking to lift the Celkon Mobile Cup includes five seam bowlers – Umesh Yadav, Ishant Sharma, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Irfan Pathan and Vinay Kumar and and three spinners- R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja and Amit Mishra.
Wicketkeeper MS Dhoni, Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina, Dinesh Karthik and Murali Vijay constitute the batting.
India have qualified for the Champions Trophy semi-finals after beating South Africa, West Indies and Pakistan respectively. Their campaign has been highlighted by excellent fielding and strong performances from the recalled opener Shikhar Dhawan (the leading run-getter with 264 at 132) and left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja, who is the second-highest wicket-taker with nine at 10.77.
India will travel to the West Indies following the Champions Trophy, for the series that also includes the hosts and Sri Lanka.
They play first match on June 30, against the hosts in Jamaica.
