Slingerz FC led by a Quason McAulay five-goal haul in the 34th, 38th, 57th, 70th and 85th minutes swamped Wales FC 16-1 as action in the West Demerara Football Association (WDFA) Stag Beer Senior League continued at the Den Amstel Ground on Sunday.
Capable support was provided by Shavane Seaforth who netted a hat trick in the 41st, 54th and 80th minutes while Tichard Joseph: 26th and 36th, Kimba
Brathwaite: 51st and 58th and Michael Crandon: sixth and 74th minutes registered doubles.
Goals by Anthony Harding and Clive Nobrega in the 21st and 48th minutes completed the lopsided encounter. Wales would register their only success of the evening through a Crandon own goal in the 74th minute. In the earlier slated encounter, Stewartville FC propelled by a Donald Bobb second-half double in the 51st and 70th minutes squeaked past Jetty United by a 3-2 score line.
Keon Cummings contributed to the win through an 18th minute strike.
On target for Jetty United was Gavin DeCosta who scored in the 34th and 67th minutes respectively.
Action continues tomorrow at the Dem Amstel ground with a double header.
In the opening game at 14:00hrs, Young Achievers will oppose Uitvlugt Warriors while Slingerz FC will tackle Eagles United at 16:00hrs in the feature contest.
On Sunday 23rd at the same venue, Jetty United and Bagotsville FC will face off at 14:00hrs whilst in the feature game at 16:00hrs, De Kinderen FC will challenge Den Amstel FC.
