The police say that at about 1350h. today Zamin Zakeer, 43 years of Albion, Corentyne, was taking $5.5M which belonged to his employer to a bank when he was allegedly held up by two men in a motor car, one of whom was armed with a firearm, along Albion Access Road.
The perpetrators then took away the cash and escaped.
The rented car that was used by the perpetrators was found abandoned at No. 60 Village Public Road, Corentyne.
Investigations are in progress, police say.
