Several contracts in the water, education, agriculture and energy sectors totalling over $450M received no objections at Cabinet’s June 18 statutory meeting.
The Government Informa-tion Agency (GINA) said a contract valued $108M for the supply and delivery of water meter boxes and two other contracts — one valued $95.6M for the supply and construction of potable water wells at Lot Two Uitvlugt and the other, service connection upgrades at Better Hope/Mon Repos Plant Area Region Four to the tune of $35.8M — were the contracts in the water sector that received no objections.
In the education sector, no objections were given to two contracts valued $50.2M (Lot 1) and US$20,466 (Lot 2) for the supply, delivery and installation of tools and equipment for the Govern-ment Technical Institute, New Amsterdam Technical Institute and GITC. A contract valued $32.9M for the supply, delivery and installation of office equipment for nine technical institutes also received no objection.
In agriculture, Cabinet offered no objection to a contract valued US$393,533 for the supply of drainage pumps for installation at
Vrede-en-Vriendschap, Region Six and a contract valued $68.7M for the rehabilitation of the Ebini breeding and research station in Region Ten.
In addition, no objections were given for a $46.7M contract in the energy sector for the supply, delivery and installation of a prime rated diesel generator (250 KVA) with canopy and related services.
