A man accused of stealing a quantity of raw gold and a magic mat was yesterday placed on $100,000 bail after denying the charge at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
Dillon London, 37, of Lot 5 Martindale, Vergenoegen, East Bank Essequibo, denied that between June 18 and June 19, at Old Hill Backdam, Imbaimadai, he stole a magic mat valued $100,000 and five pennyweights of raw gold valued at $52,500 and property of Harripaul Persaud.
No further details of the allegations were related to the court.
After no objections by the prosecution, Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry set bail at $100,000 and transferred the case to the Kamarang Magistrates’ Court for September 16.
