The circumstances surrounding the death of Vanessa Seeram, the 31-year-old mother of three whose lifeless body was found in her De Hoop home on June 8, remains a mystery as police investigations have not seen any developments.
Seeram was found in a chair in her De Hoop, Mahaica, East Coast Demerara (ECD) home with a belt wrapped tightly around her neck. Because she had attempted to take her own life in the past, several of the woman’s relatives had concluded that she had committed suicide.
Police Commissioner (ag) Leroy Brummel however, had described the circumstances of the woman’s death as suspicious, and a suspect, the man who discovered her lifeless body, had been taken into custody to assist with the investigations. The suspect though, has since been released on bail.
The police have not taken anyone else custody, nor have they concluded that Seeram took her own life. Meanwhile, the woman’s children, who also seemed convinced that their mother had taken her own life, currently reside with their aunt.
