LONDON, CMC- India all-rounder Irfan Pathan has been ruled out of the Celkon Mobile Cup tri-series in the Caribbean, starting Friday, due to a hamstring injury.
Irfan was part of the victorious Indian squad in the recently concluded ICC Champions Trophy but did not play in any of India’s matches.It is not yet clear how and when he picked up the injury.
Irfan has not had a prolonged run in the national squad due to injuries and bad form.
His latest injury though will keep him away from the tournament in the Caribbean which will also feature Sri Lanka as the third side.
Pathan has been replaced by the right-arm seamer Shami Ahmed, who has already played five ODIs and will be embarking on his first tour overseas. India begin their tri-series campaign against West Indies on Sunday in Jamaica.
The series will be held from June 28 to July 11
