Police say that at about 0040h today, they responded to a report of the discharging of a loaded firearm at a function at Esau and Jacob, Mahaicony Creek, ECD, where they found Mahendra Persaud, 29 years, of Esau and Jacob in a yard with injuries to his face.
A 12 gauge shotgun and an empty casing were handed over to the police by persons who reported that Persaud had an argument with a man during the function. He left and returned with the firearm and discharged a round, after which several persons took away the firearm and during which he received injuries. Persaud was taken for medical treatment at the GPHC as the investigations continue.
