A man suspected of killing six members of his family including two children on the French Caribbean island of Guadeloupe was found dead yesterday, after apparently committing suicide, the French news agency AFP reported.
Prosecutor Guy Etienne told AFP he believed the man, named as David Ramassamy, was the husband of one of the victims and the father of the two children aged 10 and 12 who were shot dead.
The AFP report said that police launched an appeal for the killer to turn himself in after the slayings in the town of Petit-Bourg in the French overseas department on Saturday.
AFP said that Ramassamy, a member of a gun club, was found yesterday with a gunshot wound to his head.
