Dear Editor,
I have noticed a practice (though well intended) of alerting users of the road in different areas of impending danger by placing makeshift objects in craters. Kaieteur News on Sunday last published one of these scenes at Sherriff and Fifth Avenue, Subryanville where a crate was used to alert drivers to the presence of a large hole in the road. I have seen similar ones in Albouystown, but we need to be wary of the danger these pose in the night, especially if the street is unlit.
Those in authority should take immediate and appropriate action to place warning signs suitable for day and night and repair such craters in our streets to avoid injuries and damage to vehicles.
Yours faithfully,
