SHAW PARK, Tobago, CMC- Half centuries from Akeil Greenidge and Nicholas Kirton led Barbados to a comprehensive 152 run victory over Guyana in the Regional Under 17 tournament on Wednesday.
Greenidge belted eight fours and one six in his knock of 84 and shared in a 59 run partnership with Kyle Hinckson.
Kirton stepped up at the back end of the innings to score 70 which included eight fours.
Their innings helped Barbados to 278 for six in their 50 overs with Travis Persaud and Brandon Prasad emerging as Guyana’s best bowlers with two for 35 and two for 36 respectively. Guyana’s chase never got going as wickets fell at regular intervals.
Sherfane Rutherford battled with a patient 28 while Persaud was the second highest Guyanese scorer with 25.
Deswin Currency grabbed three wickets for 17 runs as Guyana were bowled out for 126 in 37.5 overs.
