When action in the Youth Basketball Guyana (YBG) National Schools Basketball Festival (NSBF) continued at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall, Leonard Primo led Kwakwani with 12 points and 15 rebounds. Primo was ably assisted by Shafeek Thomas and younger sibling Jeremy who netted 13 and 10 points respectively.
Leading the offence for the Linden side was Terron Welch who registered 17 points and six rebounds and Travin Dryden who contributed 16 points and 23 rebounds.
In the other U20 semifinal, Marian Academy defeated Plaisance Secondary by a 38-28 score line. Dominic Vicente scored 12 points and grabbed five rebounds in the win. Nikkoloi Smith scored 10 points and picked up 21 rebounds for the East Coast side.
In the U17 category, Kwakwani through a collective display blew out Marian Academy 63-31. Floyd Edmond netted 10 points and collected seven rebounds in the crushing win.
He was supported by Kerron Phillips who scored 10 points and grabbed five rebounds and Domain Gladstone who netted 10 points. Christopher Joao led the Carifesta Avenue unit with nine points and five rebounds.
New Amsterdam Multilateral School led by a Neil Wills all-round effort of 16 points and 18 rebounds edged St. Roses High 38-32 in their U17 semifinal matchup. Nathan Howell led the Church Street institution with 15 points.
