Relatives of Omadat Persaud who was killed in a brazen robbery on Monday evening are still trying to figure out why the young farmer was shot by bandits.
Persaud also called ‘Vicky’, 27, of Lot 70 Supply, Mahaica, was gunned down after three masked men stormed his home. He sustained a gunshot wound to the head and was said to have died before he arrived at the Georgetown Public Hospital sometime after 9 pm.
Persaud’s brother- in-law who is vacationing from abroad was also gun butted to the forehead by one of the men.
He told Stabroek News that they were sitting in their lower flat around 7:30pm when three masked men came from the back of the yard and ordered them inside. “They demanded money but we didn’t get the chance to give them any. They just took away a chain and a bracelet, fired couple of shots and then they left,” he said.
Crime Chief Seelall Persaud when contacted yesterday said that investigations are continuing.
