Following the conclusion of Monday’s Guyana Cricket Board (GCB)/GTM Under-19 competition which was won by Demerara, selectors have named a National U19 14-man squad led by Berbice U19 Captain, Shawn Pereira.
The squad includes openers, Tagenarine Chanderpaul and Brian Sattaur along with Berbice national opener, Shimron Hetemyer and all rounder Romario Shepherd-De Jonge, keeper Akshay Homraj and Vice-Captain Kamesh Yadram among others.
The bowling department boasts bowlers such as: Herry Green, Steven Sankar, Dexter George, Gudakesh Motie-Kanhai, Vishal Narayan and other players capable of doing damage with the ball.
Pereira who has had experience with leadership roles on many occasions for his country, county and club will seek to gel with his new squad when encampment for the National Under-19 competition is announced later.
