There is no doubt about it. This year’s Miss Jamzone International is shaping up to be a formidable pageant given the line-up of entrants. Several of these contestants have had prior pageant experience in their own countries and on the international stage.
The Scene took a peek at the competition Guyana’s Alicia Bess is up against:
Breige Wilson
Miss Trinidad & Tobago, Breige Wilson is a 23-year-old student, who is listed as enjoying dancing, singing, acting, working with children and promoting self-love in relation to natural/curly hair. But she is much more than that. According to the T&T Newsday, she is a gifted vocalist, trained dancer and actress, and she is currently representing T&T at the Miss Humanity International Pageant in Barbados, which ends on Monday, July 15.
Consuelo Dupal
Consuelo Dupal, Miss St Lucia is 21 years old and employed as a Front Desk Supervisor. She enjoys dancing, swimming, spending quality time with family and friends, modeling, planning events and promotional marketing. Last October, she represented St Lucia at the Miss Caribbean Tourism pageant held in St Kitts and won. So she’s the current holder of that title and is probably looking to pick up her second in Guyana come next month.
Zinga Imo
Representing St Kitts & Nevis (SKN) is Zinga Imo, an 18-year-old student who loves dancing, singing, modelling, reading and swimming. In June this year, she represented SKN at the Miss Carival Pageant, which was held in St Vincent and the Grenadines and was awarded the first runner-up position.
Christol Wilson
Christol Wilson is representing Jamaica. She is a 24-year-old entrepreneur/student, who enjoys charity work, socialising, travelling and cooking. She is listed as owning a skin care company was a contestant in the Miss Jamaica World pageant in 2010.
Marvia Laurence
Miss Curacao, Marvia Laurence is 28 years old and is a marketing officer. She enjoys dancing, fitness, watching movies and reading. Coming in as the fourth runner-up at Miss Caribbean World pageant in SKN last year May and also being judged Miss Congeniality, she previously represented Curacao at the Miss Caraibes Hibiscus 2011, where she was awarded the Miss Amity title.
Netisha Alie
Netisha Alie is Antigua & Barbuda’s representative. She is 25 years old and a primary school teacher, who was born in Dominica but makes her home in Antigua. She enjoys outdoor activities (swimming), socialising, modelling and travelling. She is a professional model, who also represented Antigua at the Miss Humanity International Pageant in 2011.
Keya Canaii
Miss United States Virgin Island (St Croix) is Keya Canaii, 26, Chief-of-Staff (Office of Senator Craig W. Barshiner, USVI Legislature). She enjoys environmentalism, animal advocacy, community service, astronomy, photography, dancing,
travelling, playing the clarinet, exercising, gardening/healthy eating and is a natural medicine advocate.
