Dear Editor,
It was the headline on page 4 of Saturday’s SN which captured my attention: ‘Lithuanian capital to install public “happiness barometer.”’ I questioned, “Is this for real?” until I read on and was indeed surprised.
An idea came to mind why should Guyana not install two such barometers to test the mood or happiness of our nation. One could be placed at the Mayor’s office and the other I’d suggest at Parliament Buildings. With all the modern communications gadgets both Digicel and GT&T would welcome the response.
Oh, on second thoughts, we are not going to participate in any Global Happiness as this may require another barometer.
All for laughs which we Guyanese can boast about.
Yours faithfully,
V O Patrick
