(Jamaica Gleaner) MONTEGO BAY, St James —Adrian Laidlaw, agent of multiple relay gold medalist Nesta Carter has denied reports that the sprinter tested positive for the same stimulant found in the samples of his MVP training partners Asafa Powell and Sherone Simpson.
Since Sunday, rumours have circulated that Carter who ran a season’s best 9.87 seconds at a meeting in Madrid, Spain on Saturday was one of the Jamaicans who failed drug tests at the Jamaican National Senior Trials in June.
Laidlaw told the Observer yesterday morning in an interview from Florida that Carter had not tested positive and was continuing his preparations for several upcoming meets including the IAAF World Championships.
