AT ALPART, Jamaica, CMC- Spin bowler Joshua Bishop grabbed eight wickets to pull Barbados from the brink of defeat as they completed a 23-run win over Trinidad and Tobago in the Regional Under-15 tournament here.
Bishop followed up his four wickets in the first innings with 4 for 17 to bundle out T&T for 64 in 37.1 overs as they chase a winnings target of 87 set by Barbados.
Bishop was assisted by fast bowler Jarion Hoyte who snatched four wickets for 24 runs to help disrupt Trinidad’s chase.
Earlier, a remarkable, unbeaten 45 by Barbados wicket-keeper, Michael Stuart, paved the way for their come-from-behind win.
Barbados looked all but out of the contest heading into Day 2 struggling on 53 for five.
They were further reduced to 59 for nine before Stuart struck four fours and one six in his knock to revive the Bajan second innings along with Joshua Bishop who chipped in with 33.
Amrit Kistow finished with 5-24 for T&T but not before Barbados got to 126 all out.
Defending champions Barbados have now moved to the top of the table after winning both matches.
