Lodge resident Sherwin Johnson, who has been accused of threatening his wife, was last Tuesday placed on $15,000 bail and bonded to keep the peace.
Johnson, 39, of Lot F Joseph Pollydore Street, Lodge, was arraigned on a charge which stemmed from allegations that he threatened Sharon Jacobs, the mother of his children on July 11.
Johnson told Magistrate Faith McGusty at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court that he relocated to his aunt’s following the altercation with his wife.
Johnson, who was represented by attorney Paul Fung-A-Fat, denied the charge and after getting the court’s permission to speak, asked if he could visit his children.
But his wife, present at the hearing, made it known that she objected because “he is very dangerous.”
The woman said Johnson told her in front of the children that “he will come and pick my body up.”
She further explained that she is forced to deal with threatening and harassing text messages from another woman with whom the defendant allegedly has a relationship with and she wished that the situation would stop.
This, she said, prompted their altercation on July 11. The magistrate advised the situation would be better handled if she reports it to the police.
After fixing bail and placing Johnson on a bond to keep the peace, the magistrate set July 12 as the date for trial.
