Guyana’s pound-for-pound king and three-division champion, Clive ‘The Punisher’ Atwell is scheduled to return to the ring on August 10 at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.
According to executives of the Guyana Boxing Board of Control (GBBC), the undefeated Caribbean Boxing Federation (CABOFE) featherweight, junior welterweight and local lightweight champion is slated to headline the 29th edition of the Guyana Fight Night Pro Am card against Barbadian Shurwyne ‘The Mauler’ Marshall.
Atwell (10(5)-0-1) will match gloves with Marshall (5 (3)-10(6)-1) in an eight-round lightweight contest.
The 25-year-old Dominica-based ‘Punisher’ will look to continue his winning ways against the seasoned 41-year-old ‘Mauler’.
Former world rater and European champion, Howard ‘Battersea Bomber’ Eastman (46(37)-12(2)-0) will take on national light middleweight titlist, Mark Austin (9(1)-5(2)-1) in a 154-pound fight scheduled for eight rounds in the co-feature.
New sensations, Laured Stewart and Richard Williamson will also be in action.
Stewart, fresh off his dominant debut victory against Anson Green earlier this month will take on journeyman Eversley Brown in a four-round middleweight bout.
Match makers of the event will pit Williamson against Green in a lightweight affair also scheduled for four rounds.
The professional bouts are scheduled to become official today at the contract signing at the head office of the GBBC on the Avenue of the Republic at 14:00hrs.
Names of the pugilists who will make up the amateur segment of the card will be announced subsequently.
