The body of fourteen-year-old Kelly Hope was found washed up along the shores of the Victoria Seawall this morning after he went missing on Monday.
The boy’s father, Leonard, told Stabroek News that his son was discovered around 7:45 after a search party went looking for him.
It is believed that the boy went swimming with his friends on Monday afternoon at the koker where it is customary for children in the community to get away and visit.
The young men, all of Hope’s age, were up to the time at the police station for questioning.
Leonard said that his son is not a swimmer so the seawalls was the last place in his mind to go and look for Hope, but after one of the boy’s friends came to his home bearing his bike and with news of his son’s clothing being found at the scene they decided to search there.
Hope, just months shy of his fifteenth birthday, was a student at the Golden Grove Secondary.
