Three buildings were commissioned by Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Local Government Collin Croal and another by Minister of Local Government Ganga Persaud during a four-team visit to villages across the region, the Government Information Agency reported yesterday.
GINA said that Croal declared open the District Development Officer’s Quarter, and Doctor’s quarter in the Administrative compound in Karasabai Central, and the Sanitary Block at Tipuru Primary while Persaud opened the Sand Creek doctor’s quarter.
Croal called on officers at the commissioning of the District Development Officer’s Quarter to work harder and beyond the call of duty now that they are in a conducive environment. The building was constructed at a cost of $8.68M.
Croal speaking at the commissioning of the $3.59M Sanitary Block at Tipuru Primary School stated that 59 students will now be benefitting from the new facilities, GINA said.
At the opening of the $8.38M Doctor’s Quarters in Karasabai, Croal said residents will benefit from the services of
doctors stationed in the Region. The Sand Creek doctor’s quarters was built at a cost of over $8M, GINA added.
