BASSETERRE, St.Kitts, CMC- Leeward Islands stormed back to pull off a nail biting one wicket victory over Barbados on the third and final day of their second round match in the Regional Under 19 tournament here at Conaree yesterday.
An ambitious 9th wicket partnership between Tristan Powell and Jeremiah Louis chased down a mammoth 300-run winning target set by Barbados.
The Bajans who led on first innings after dismissing the Leewards cheaply were hoping to press for an outright victory by declaring their second innings on 172 for four.
However Barbados did not cater for Powell and Louis saving the day by compiling 146 runs for the 9th wicket to swing the momentum back in the Leewards favour.
Powell was unbeaten on 74 and Louis 69 as the Leewards got home safely at 301 for nine.
Over at EGSC, prolific Jeremy Solozano smashed his third century of the tournament to setup a 30 run victory for Trinidad and Tobago over Guyana.
Solonzano was undefeated on 136 while Bryan Christmas scored 72, the two putting together an opening partnership of 170.
The Trinidadians powered their way to 236 for six declared in their second innings giving Guyana a winning target of 272.
However Jesse Bootan and Brian Charles combined to stifle the chase and wreck the Guyana innings grabbing five for 20 and three for 33 respectively and bowling them out for 141.

Set 115 to win, Leroy Lug and Tristan Coleman carried Jamaica to victory at 117 for the loss of four wickets.
