LONDON, CMC- Two time Olympic champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce says performances such as her 200 m sprint that earned her the world leading time over the distance are needed to throw the spotlight back on track and field.
Fraser-Pryce was commenting on her impressive run at the Sainsbury’s Anniversary games in London over the weekend in the wake of the recent spate of failed drug tests affecting the sport.
Fraser-Pryce established a new world lead in the women’s 100m of 10.77 seconds in the semi-final round at the Games.
“Hopefully for the rest of the athletes who are here, we continue to inspire the fans to come out and support and we can do our best,” Fraser-Pryce told noted track and field website Flotrack.
