A teacher was yesterday read a charge of having sexual relations with a minor girl.
Terrence Evans, 28, appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court accused of the crime, which was committed on May 16, 2012. It is alleged that he engaged in sexual activity with a child under the age of 16.
Evans was admitted to bail in the sum of $80,000 and a trial is set to commence in the matter.
The proceedings yesterday were held in-camera (to the exclusion of the public), both because the virtual complainant is a juvenile and the nature of the charge.
