A man went on a chopping rampage at Zeelugt North, Squatting area, East Bank Essequibo this evening killing two children and badly wounding his reputed wife.
Senior police officials in `D’ Division have confirmed the incident which occurred just after 6 pm.
Stabroek News was told that Richard Lord and his reputed wife Natasha Huston age 20 got into a heated argument over unfaithfulness. The police said that the man armed himself with a cutlass and went berserk chopping everything in sight.
The woman was the first to be attack. A police official said that her left hand was severed while all the fingers on her right hand were chopped off.
Huston is currently at the Leonora Cottage Hospital receiving medical attention. Stabroek News was told that she is in a critical condition and would have to be transferred to the city.
This newspaper was told that the children ages five and two were chopped to their necks, heads and other parts of the body. The younger child, a boy is theirs while the five year old, a girl, is from another union that Huston had shared.
The bodies are still at the scene awaiting the arrival of a hearse while Lord is on the run.
Last September Jennifer Persaud, 41 years, of Anna Catherina, WCD, and her two sons Afridi Persaud, 6 years, and Jadon Persaud, 1 year 3 months were found dead in their homes with knife wounds. Anna Catherina also falls under `D’ Division.
