The pitch and field of the Guyana National Stadium located at Providence on the East Bank of Demerara is in superb condition and is set to accommodate a mass of cricket enthusiast, fans and die-hard lovers tonight as the Guyana Amazon Warriors battle the Trinidad and Tobago Red Steel under floodlights.
Stabroek Sport met a surreal atmosphere when they visited the Stadium yesterday
in a bid to have a glimpse of the pre-encounter preparations. LCPL staff were busy outlining the boundary lines with the various sponsorship brands.
Stabroek Sport also observed the out-field neatly trimmed and evenly rolled providing an ideal track for fielders who are set to race down the boundaries as spectators witness fours and sixes being hit and batsmen who are keen on playing text book cover and straight drives.
This publication also popped in at the LCPL Ticket Head-Office which is located in Middle Street and according to Alex Graham, Events Operation Office of the LCPL, sales are doing extremely well.
Graham dispelled rumors of tickets being ‘sold out’ for the Guyana leg of the competition.
He noted that despite the overwhelming sale of tickets, patrons can still come out and acquire tickets for the various home games, stating that persons should “ come out today and get a ticket.”
Tickets for all home matches can be uplifted at the LCPL head office or Digicel and COURTS outlets.
