BK Western Tigers on Saturday defeated Camptown Football Club 3-0 to be crowned Fruta Conquerors U-13 Final Four football champions at the event’s finale which was contested at the Tucville Community Centre Ground.
Malachi Adonis recorded the only success of the first half with a third minute strike that sent the small gathering into celebrations.
Receiving the ball in the heart of the Camptown midfield area, the powerfully built Adonis evaded multiple challenges as he ran at the Campbellville based side’s back line before finishing to the bottom right hand corner of the net.
Full back Romel Maxwell extend BK Western Tigers lead through a 50th minute goal mouth scrimmage tap in from a resulting right side corner kick and the outcome of the game was effectively sealed three minutes later as Maxwell completed his second goal compliments of a right footed chipped shot over the Camptown custodian from 18 yards out.
In the earlier third place playoff, East Ruimveldt side Renaissance FC defeated tournament hosts Fruta Conquerors 2-1 on penalty kicks after regulation time found both sides locked at nil-all.
Following the conclusion of the game, the Fruta Conquerors U-13 league presentation commenced.
In the individual section, Fruta Conquerors Jeremy Garrett was adjudged to be the league’s most valuable player (MVP) while the golden boot winner for the league’s most goals went to BK Western Tigers Malachi Adonis with nine strikes.
Fruta Conquerors’ Ronaldo Wishart and Camptown’s Joshua Denny collected the golden glove and most improved player awards respectively.
The recipients of the individual accolades were also awarded gift vouchers from Austin’s Book store valued at $5000 each.
