The 12th staging of the Miss Guyana Talented Teen pageant is set for September 28 with an important addition – the first ever Mr Guyana Talented Teen competition.
According to a press release from Simpli Royal, it is pleased to also showcase young talented Guyanese teenage boys. The boys will be charged with ambassadorial duties highlighting issues facing teens and young adults and will take on a ‘Big Brother’ project that aids a child whose opportunity for education is threatened this year.
For the first time also the event will include an 8-week reality series featuring the training and promotional activities of the teens. In the spotlight too would be the trainers, designers and sponsors. The training has been enhanced to add a segment on dramatic performances in addition to the talent development sessions.
Promotional activities include the cotillion, Vagina Monologues for Teenagers, and a motorcade, among other things.
Nine young women will vie for the crown and a chance to represent Guyana at the Caribbean Talented Teen Pageant in St Kitts come December.
Nine young men will be showcased in this first ever Mr Guyana Talented Teen, to earn lucrative prizes and bragging rights, the release said, adding that already there is evidence of spectacular talent in the performing arts that will make the show one of the best ever.
Apart from the trip for the Miss Talented Teen, prizes include laptop computer, educational awards, trophies, cash prizes and a partial wardrobe for both winners.
Meanwhile, Simple Royal also announced that for the first time, the show will be held outdoors in the National Park where the entire tarmac will be transformed to a ‘Teensville’ with food and drink stalls, educational opportunities in informational technology, face painting, photo opportunities, fun games, and fabulous local
talent lineup.

David Anthony Loncke
David is a 17-year-old student of the University of Guyana who likes to sing and dance.
Dennis Glasgow
Dennis proudly represents Anna Regina, the hometown of his parents and fore-parents. A student of the Bishops’ High School, Dennis has his sights set on becoming an Economist and Lawyer. His hobbies include hiking, dancing, social networking and acting. He volunteers at the Ptolemy Reid Rehabilitation Centre.
Emperor Brummell
Emperor is a 16-year-old who likes to sing and dance. He is a student of the National School of Dance and took part in several Children’s Mash Dance Competitions. His favourite singer is Lisa Punch. He represents
Lacytown.
Fazil Rahaman
Fazil is an 18-year old who envisions becoming an entrepreneur. Hobbies for him include family time, dancing and reading. Favourite music includes chutney, soul and soca. Fazil is proud of Guyana’s makeup of six races because it showcases our rich culture.
Kefa Wesley Smith
Kefa is a 16-year old who aspires to become a journalist. He is also interested in figures and thinks that he could also be an accountant. Kefa’s hobbies include swimming, dancing, sing-ing, hiking and acting. He will be bringing his gift of singing to the competition.
Kevin Smith
Kevin represents Parika because he thinks it’s a prosperous community that links Essequibo with the Demeraras. He likes to dance, the movies and browsing the net. This 17-year-old is a former student of St John’s College and plans to study law.
Linden Christopher Isles
Linden is a 17-year-old student of the University of Guyana studying for a diploma in Accountancy. His life
ambition is to become an economist. His hobbies include volunteerism and teaching children. Linden’s favourite music genres are R&B and pop and he loves everything by Rihanna. His talent is playing the steel pan.
Mark Junor
Mark represents Prashad Nagar. He is an 18-year old who likes dancing, fashion designing and cooking. Mark aims to become a journalist and practices giving back to the less fortunate when he can.
Royden James
Royden is proud to represent his hometown, New Amsterdam. This 18-year old is a student of the University of Guyana who likes drama. Royden also enjoys writing and social networking. He is the reigning Mr Berbice Senior High 2012.
