After a one-year absence from the ring, Caribbean Boxing Federation (CABOFE) and local super middleweight champion, Lennox ‘2 Sharpe’ Allen will make his return under new management tomorrow night.
The undefeated New York, USA-based boxer (16(10)-0-1) is scheduled to face Michael ‘The Amazing’ Gbenga (16(16)-8-0) in a six-round contest at the BB Blues Club and Grill in New York.
Allen, 28, told Stabroek Sport recently that his eight-week preparatory camp went according to plans and he is looking forward to making a statement in this fight.
Allen, who is now signed to Dibella Entertainment, told this publication that he is looking forward to putting his career back on track to capture a world title. “I was out for a while because of some issues with my last promotional company but now I am back on track under new management and I’m focused on getting my career back on the path to a world title.
“I have also reunited with my coach, Colin Morgan and we are looking forward to big things,” Allen declared.
Each of Gbenga’s wins have come via the KO route but Allen said that he was confident of defeating the 34-year-old Ghanian.
“I never claim how I am going to win, but what I do know is when the final bell sounds my hands will be the air” said the soft spoken Allen.
