Entertainment promoter Colin Mack was yesterday placed on a bond to keep the peace for the next 12 months after he pleaded guilty to disturbing the peace.
The charges read by Magistrate Ann McLennan at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court stated that Mack, 44, of Lot 249 Festival City, North Ruimveldt, on August 14, at Waterloo Street, made noise so loud that it disturbed the neighbourhood.
According to prosecutor Deniro Jones, at around 2:45am yesterday, Mack stopped motorcar PPP 998 in front of the Jerries Snackette while playing very loud music.
Jones added that the proprietor of the Jerries Snackette summoned the police and Mack was arrested and charged.
When given the chance to speak, Mack told the court that he and his wife were on their way home when they stopped to purchase something to eat.
“I did leave the music on and for that I am very sorry,” Mack stated.
Magistrate McLennan told Mack that he has to respect the fact that other people’s taste in music might not be the same as his. She added that considering the time of the morning when the offence occurred, loud music was most definitely not acceptable.
He was subsequently discharged but was placed on a bond to keep the peace for 12 months.
