Businessman Asad Ishoof passed away on July 31st at the age of 68. His funeral was held in Miami, Florida on August 2nd.
A notice in today’s Stabroek News said that following his service in the army, Ishoof built a business in the agricultural sector that encompassed fertilizers, agro-products, machinery and engineering and technology applications.
The Albion-born Ishoof had been one of the founding officers and a captain of the Guyana Defence Force. He was a graduate of the Mons Officer Cadet School in Aldershot, UK.
The notice said that he was afforded the privilege of placing the Golden Arrowhead on Mount Ayanganna to commemorate the country’s independence on May 26th, 1966
The notice said that an evening of commemoration will be held on August 24th from 7 to 10 pm at 38-39 Begonia Avenue, Bel Air Park.
