The body of a 32-year-old man was yesterday discovered in the compound of the Safari Hotel and Inn at Friendship, East Bank Demerara.
Victor Ramsabad, also known as ‘Ton Ton’, of Grove, East Bank Demerara was found with suspected marks of violence about his body at about 0230hrs.
When Stabroek News visited the hotel, a staff member who was on duty said that she did not know what transpired, but she was informed that several employees of the hotel were taken to the Grove Police Station for questioning. She said that she only saw the man a couple of times when he did odd jobs at the hotel.
Several persons in the community said that the man was imbibing with others at the hotel when an argument ensued and he was reportedly beaten to death.
A man has since been arrested and is currently assisting the police with investigations.
