Tournament co-hosts Slingerz FC defeated Netrockers 4-0 as the Slingerz/National Association for Women Football (NAWF) Goal for Gold tournament continued on Tuesday.
Played at the Mackenzie Sports Club (MSC) ground in Linden, Tichard Joseph opened the scoring for Slingerz in the third minute. Slingerz doubled the lead 14 minutes later through a Quason McAulay strike.
Vurlon Mills added to the lopsided score line through a 25th minute effort while Dwain Jacobs capped off the easy victory for the West Demerara side with an 88th minute conversion.
In the earlier match, Topp XX defeated fellow Linden side Milerock by two goals to nil. Keon Sears opened the scoring in the second half with a 58th minute effort while
Travis Watterton penned his name on the scorer’s sheet two minutes later to seal the win.
