The KFC outlets on Vlissengen Road and Stabroek Square re-opened for business on Wednesday evening after closing suddenly on Tuesday while Pizza Hut says it was never closed.
Checks by Stabroek News last evening to both KFC outlets revealed that they were both open, and officials say that the stores re-opened since Wednesday night. Pizza Hut however, which also reportedly closed suddenly on Tuesday, indicated that they were never closed, although checks of the Pizza Hut outlet on Tuesday evening revealed that it was closed earlier than usual.
On Tuesday, a sign in the window of the Stabroek Square KFC outlet stated that the store would be closed temporarily to facilitate “maintenance,” but would reopen “soon” and a release by the stores’ franchise holders on Wednesday reiterated this position.
There were concerns that the sudden closure was due to poor sanitary conditions.
