Police say that Investigations are being conducted into an incident that occurred at about 0600h yesterday at Waimu, Cuyuni River, in which Brazilian national Radiel Silva Lima, 29 years, was shot in his left leg.
Police say that investigations revealed that Silva Lima was involved in an argument with another Brazilian national, who is a licensed firearm holder, over damage to an excavator when he was shot. Silva Lima has been hospitalised.
The licensed firearm holder is in police custody and is under guard at the Bartica Hospital after he complained of feeling unwell. His firearm has been seized by the police.
