A businessman was yesterday released on bail after he denied wounding a friend over money owed to him.
The charge read at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court stated that on August 19, at Roxanne Burnham Gardens, Terry Sampson, 42, of 192 Roxanne Burnham Gardens, unlawfully and maliciously wounded Bryan Domer.
He pleaded not guilty to the charge. His lawyer, Dexter Todd, in his bail application, stated that Sampson and Domer, who are acquainted with each other, had a little argument over money owed to Sampson. Todd noted that Domer has not been hospitalised.
Prosecutor Seon Blackman stated that Domer sustained a 25cm laceration but he did not object to bail.
As a result, Magistrate Faith McGusty set bail in the sum of $40,000 and adjourned the case until September 2.
