Scores of young people on August 25, 2013 joined the Progressive Youth Organisation (PYO) to paint one hundred and one pedestrian crossings across Guyana as part of its “Road Safety and Back to School Campaign”, a release from the PYO said yesterday.
The release said that the youth arm of the ruling PPP mobilized youths from Regions one through ten.
Chairman of the Steering Committee of the organisation Omar Shariff, said that he was impressed with the commitment and dedication shown by the young people, the release said.
“I am more than satisfied that our PYO has embarked and successfully completed this campaign. I also want to commend the youths for their bravery and zeal.
As I see them with their brushes and paint, I am reminded of the commitment and selflessness that PYO must continue to show in its bid to develop Guyana and complement the work of all patriots”, he stated.
