Anne-Marie Hutson, the trainee nurse who was doused with acid, is recovering at the Burn Care Unit of the Georgetown Hospital where she remains a patient.
Hutson, 33, told Stabroek News yesterday that she is recovering as her injuries heal.
She also added that she has to complete another surgery after which doctors will have to assess how the burns she sustained on her back are healing before she is discharged from the institution.
No one has been arrested following the attack, which was carried out at the corner of New Market and Thomas streets as Hutson was heading to work.
Two men threw the substance on Hutson as she passed them and then escaped. The woman had said she initially thought it was water that was thrown on her because the liquid felt cold but seconds after her skin began to burn.
Because of the burning, Hutson said she jumped into a puddle of water and then ran to the Georgetown Hospital where she sought medical attention.
