Ganesh Narine, who is accused of killing his common law wife, is now on trial in the High Court before Justice James Bovell-Drakes and a jury.
Narine, called “Kana,” allegedly killed Krishandai Singh, called Geeta, of 245 Block ‘X’ Cornelia Ida, West Coast Demerara, by stabbing her to death on June 12, 2009.
The trial, which has been adjourned until Monday, started on Wednesday and a voir dire was underway yesterday.
Natasha Backer and Dhanika Singh are presenting the state’s case, while attorney Peter Hugh is representing Singh.
