A post mortem examination was yesterday performed on the body of Samantha Cummings of Better Hope by Government Pathologist Dr Nehaul Singh who gave the cause of death as abscess in the liver, her relatives said.
On Saturday last, Cummings, 37, was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital by her sister after complaining of a high fever and numbness in her foot. Her relatives had accused the GPH of negligence, saying that if they had attended to her in a timely manner her death could have been prevented.
The hospital had said that they were aware of the complaint and were checking into the allegations.
