Riddim Squad FC crushed Flamingo FC 4-1 as action in the inaugural Georgetown Football Association (GFA) Players Cup continued on Saturday at the Georgetown Football Club (GFC) ground, Bourda.
Sheldon Hope opened the scoring for the Mocha-based side with a 14th minute effort. Riddim Squad would double their advantage three minutes later through a Sheldon Gorrick strike.
Amos Ramsay made it a three-goal lead as he found the back of the net in the 25th minute. Dwayne Layne would pull one back for the Flamingo side, etching his name on the scorer’s sheet in the 49th minute effort.
The lopsided result would be completed in the 75th minute through a Gordon Grant conversion.
In the other slated encounter, Fruta Conquerors and the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) played to a scrappy nil-all draw.
Action continues at the Tucville Community Centre ground on Wednesday September 4th with two slated fixtures. In the opening game at 18:30hrs, Camptown FC will lock horns with GFC while in the feature contest at 20:30hrs, Pele FC will oppose GDF.
