Guyana’s Devendra Bishoo, Veerasammy Permaul and Gudakesh Motie-Kanhai are currently participating in a spin bowling clinic in Barbados conducted by former Pakistan spinner Saqlain Mushtaq.
The three are among 15 cricketers from around the region who will participate in the three-week long clinic.
The clinic commenced yesterday.
Mushtaq has been contracted by the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) at the request of West Indies Head Coach Ottis Gibson. Former West Indies spinner Lance Gibbs was contacted by the WICB to co-facilitate the clinic but he was unfortunately not available.
Mushtaq played 49 Test matches and 169 One-day Internationals (ODI) in his career and he also captured 208 Test wickets and 288 ODI wickets.
Gibson’s goal is to improve the skill of current international players and potential future West Indian spin bowlers.
Three female West Indies players Anisa Mohammed, Stafanie Taylor and Shaquana Quintyne have also been invited to the clinic.
