Minister of Home Affairs, Clement Rohee will be leading a delegation made up ofย high level security sector and revenue protection officials for a two-day meeting with their counterparts in neighbouring Suriname beginning today.
A release from the Government Information Agency said that the meeting will held under the Presidential Engagement Initiative, the brainchild of former President Bharrat Jagdeo and Surinamese Head of State, Desi Bouterse.
The delegation will include: Guyana Defence Force Chief of Staff, Rear Admiral Gary Best; Commissioner of Police, Leroy Brummel; Commissioner General, Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA), Khurshid Sattaur; Head of the Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU), James Singh and other officials.
The focus will continue to be on expanding cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the areas of law enforcement and revenue protection, GINA said.
