A man considered the prime suspect in the murder of elderly Robb Street pharmacist Harold Rachpaul was recently captured after being on the run for two years, Crime Chief Seelall Persaud has confirmed.
A wanted bulletin had been issued for Ryan Kissoon, called “Dhal Belly” on October 24, 2011.
Persaud when contacted told Stabroek News that “the man was arrested (and) questioned and may go on bail if he hasn’t already”.
Rachpaul, 84, the proprietor of Rachpaul Drug Store at Robb Street, Georgetown, was killed on August 18, 2011. He was found bound and gagged in his bedroom by relatives the following morning. An autopsy revealed that he was suffocated.
