Dear Editor,
Has Guyana lost the art of sub-editing letters? I saw recently in another organ a letter which spread over nearly two pages. Prolix or what? Unreadable for sure. If a writer cannot make ‒ or be made to make ‒ their points in three paragraphs then they should be encouraged to seek publication in book form or binned.
Letters to the editor are, er, letters to the editor. Sub them.
Yours faithfully,
John ‘Bill Cotton/Reform’ Mair
