A US-based Guyanese was yesterday granted $10,000 bail after she pleaded not guilty in court on charges that she assaulted another woman.
The allegation is that on June 12 at East Ruimveldt, Carmen Reese, 47, unlawfully assaulted Omilita Grant.
Reese told the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court that she is currently visiting Guyana to attend court for a pending matter she has with Grant. She said she is a former nurse in the US and gave her local address as Lot 620 East Ruimveldt.
She pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Prosecutor Vishnu Hunt said that she cuffed Grant on the day of the incident but he did not object to bail.
Bail was granted and Reese ordered to appear in Court 10 on Monday.
