Expecting some leeway from the weather the Georgetown Softball Cricket League Incorporated (GSCL Inc) is set to bowl off their 12/12 tournament on Saturday at the Everest Cricket Club ground.
The tournament will feature some of the best teams in action and the winning team is set to receive $600,000 and a trophy.
The runners-up prize according to a press release from the sponsors is $200,000 and a trophy.
Some 12 teams are set to compete in the lucrative tournament including the inaugural champs Memorex who will compete with Universal DVD Titans, R1, Speedboat XI, Trophy Stall, Regal XI, East Coast All Star, Better Hope, Recharge, Smith’s XI, Wolf Warriors and Romaine XI.
The tournament was initially set to commence last month but was pushed back because of the heavy rainfall.
The Man of the Series is expected to receive one three-piece living room suite while the best batsman and best bowler will each walk away with $5,000 and a trophy.
The Man of the Match in the final is set to receive $10,000 and a trophy.
There are also giveaways for the spectators. Gates open at 9:00am and action is set to commence at 9:30am when the first ball is bowled.
